Quail Run is a small hobby kennel originating in the Southern California desert in 1980. In June, 2005, we relocated to the beautiful Pacific Northwest, namely Gig Harbor, WA. In April, 2007, we moved again, this time to 6 acres in Rochester, WA where the dogs are much happier!

Jim is employed by a chemical company in Tumwater, WA and Cindy is an accountant, currently working part time for a CPA firm in Gig Harbor and part time at home.

My dogs are shown in conformation; however my main focus is on performance, namely traditional obedience and Rally obedience while also maintaining their natural hunting ability. Unfortunately, as much as I would love to work on field training, time always seems to be an issue.

I breed seldom and when I do, I always to try to improve on what I have and also to keep something for myself. Temperament is a top priority as all of my dogs are house dogs and must live together peacefully at all times. Because of this, I have found it much easier to only keep one gender and that is females. I do currently have one neutered male and he is our "token" boy. All pet puppies are sold on AKC Limited Registration and spaying and neutering is strongly recommended. Labrador's are not for everyone and all potential homes are carefully screened.

All of our dogs are cleared for potential hereditary joint and heart problems through OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) and eyes are checked annually and registered through CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation). Optigen testing is also done on all current breeding stock.
